“ Our last visit to Adelaide, I was craving for fried chicken. Uncle Doc's didn't disappoint me. Loved it. ”
“ Solid fried chicken place with a Filipino touch which tastes similar to Jollibee. Limited seating indoors and outdoors but all the more reason to walk and eat at the Glenelg beachside. Food took a while to prepare but it was very busy when we ordered on a weeknight. The fried chicken was solid (the cripsy skin was perfect) but enjoyed the burger steak much more despite the appearance. Would visit again as my go to Filipino fried chicken spot. “ Small casual shop really close to the beach. Great takeaway portions, or a quick dine in. Burger steak rice meal was very underwhelming, considering the price was quite expensive and the taste was mediocre. The 4 flavours platter consist of original, spicy, cheese and soy. Comes with rice, can change to fries. Fries were not bad but a little soggy. The fried chicken was quite good but some pieces were served cold, probably left on the side for too long.. Flavours were good overall. Friendly staff. ”
“ A surprisingly delicious takeaway shop in the heart of Geleng; destined for great things I reckon My partner and I came here on a whim whilst passing through, and I was blown away by the quality of chicken alongside the friendliness of the staff. Making a decent chicken burger is easy, but making a great one is very difficult. Utilising chicken thighs (I think), this place produces one of the best chicken burgers I’ve had in a while - great work If you’re in the mood for a quick snack, or a lunchtime meal, I’d definitely consider this place ”
“ Best burger place in Glenelg!!!!!! I ordered large combo meal with bacon&cheese burger and honey soy chickens for $25, Best money spent for dinner I’d love to come back for this combo! The chickens were juicy and the beef burger was quite big portion with thick patty good amount of protein for sure ”
“ Visited Uncle Doc's for the first time, and very impressed. Only downside is the menu is a bit pricey but definitely worth trying out at least once. Service was friendly and helpful, and it would have been such a lovely place for dine-in (simple but clean retro vibes - great beachside setting), but we did takeaway instead. Note: good idea to make use of their free gloves, because the best way to eat their fried chicken is with your hands! We tried three flavours of their signature fried chicken, with chips on the side. The chips were all right, but the chicken was cooked and seasoned so beautifully. Very crispy and flavoursome. Also recommend trying their Filipino-style spaghetti bake - gooey, creamy, cheesy and also super sweet. Hope to return again to try more of their menu. ”
“ I really enjoyed my experience at Uncle Doc’s, surprisingly the first Filipino fast food restaurant in Australia, located in Glenelg, South Australia. I was touring around Glenelg when a food poster caught my attention—something about it felt like home. There it was: lumpia (spring rolls), fried chicken cooked just the way we do it in the Philippines, eating with hands, unlimited rice, and unlimited gravy—all familiar and comforting touches. The staff were incredibly kind and accommodating, making the experience even more memorable. It was also heartwarming to learn that the owner is from Zamboanga—a place close to our hearts ”
